Who We Are

We are a youth group within Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church. As a teen, you face many storms. And it only gets more difficult once you leave home. At Gravity, our goal is to teach you how to weather those storms and to face the challenges coming in college and the workplace. We know the only way to do that is by gaining and maintaining a vital faith in Jesus Christ. We understand teens come to us with different amounts of faith, or no faith at all. We take everyone where they are, and build them from the ground up. Only then will you have the confidence to defend your faith when those challenges come. But having gravity does not mean being grave. We will tackle these weighty matters with humor and have fun as we share many adventures.

What We Do

We gather community children to give back to the community. When children are exposed to different environments and situations, they can learn many different things. Different volunteering roles can teach young children the importance of listening to directions, for example. These roles can also teach older children to take responsibility through leadership or to listen to the thoughts of their peers. One very important skill all children learn from volunteering is how to work together as a team. Volunteering can help children learn that the world includes more than just their home or school. This can help them understand why it is important to get involved in the community and take actions that benefit everyone. When children develop this awareness, they may become inspired more frequently to get involved and think about how to make a difference without your urging.
