Who We Are

The Mission of the Warrenton Police Department is to work in partnership with Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, residents and businesses of our community to provide a safe and secure environment. With community services as our foundation, we are driven to enhance the quality-of-life by providing effective law enforcement services through transparent and impartial policing. Our Vision is Building Trust Together.

What We Do

The Warrenton Police Department provides an opportunity for local residents, business owners/managers, community members, religious leaders, prospective officers, college students, criminal justice majors and retirees to apply and attend the 2024 Joint Community Academy ten-week outreach program, so they can get to know their local law enforcement in a stress-free environment. The Warrenton Police Department and the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office are proud to announce this Joint Community Academy. This program provides opportunity to build trust and partnerships together; opportunity to ride-along with an officer/deputy; opportunity for residents who are at least 18 years of age, live or work in Fauquier County to come together as a community with law enforcement and much more. Academy participant/graduates are simply asked to commit to 10 hours of annual volunteer service to Warrenton Police Department Volunteer Program post-graduation. This is not a training course to become a sworn law enforcement official.  There are times we may need additional volunteers with special community events.  This program offers volunteering opportunities for our local community and the reason for signing up with the Path Foundation Volunteer Hub.
