Who We Are

Since 1984 Culpeper Food Closet has sought to ease food insecurity in Culpeper. From a single closet to 2000 square feet of lobby and warehouse space, the 75 volunteers work to help local families in need have food for their families.

We are always seeking folks who are interested in serving their neighbors in need by sorting and shelving food or packing custom groceries for clients.  Training is provided.  One special need is anyone who speaks Spanish and English for our Thursday evening session 4 - 6 pm.

What We Do

The over 80 volunteers work in one of three areas, procurement---gathering donations and getting them on the shelves, repacking from bulk packages to single family size, and food givers who interact with clients and custom pack their grocery needs.  This is a transformation ministry where it's just important that the volunteers leave their shift feeling uplifted as are the grateful clients uplifted with healthy food for their families.
