Who We Are

We are neighbors helping neighbors with kindness and respect just as we would want to be treated in a time of need.

Our Core Values

Humility: We understand no one is protected from unforeseen circumstances that may result in a need for help. Integrity: We act with honesty, trust, and openness with donors, volunteers, clients, and within the law. Collaboration: Together as a community, we can achieve a greater good. Respect: We are neighbors helping neighbors; treating others as we would want to be treated. Advocacy: We will be a voice in the community about hunger and nutrition. Nutrition: The most economically poor are also the most nutritionally poor. We aim to provide DASH meals, delicious, affordable, simple, and healthy meals. Empowerment: We provide the tools and means necessary for our clients to build confidence while also providing a safe and welcoming environment with no judgement.

DOING GOOD, DOESN’T MEAN WE SHOULDN’T DO BETTER.

What We Do

WE ENVISION FAUQUIER COUNTY AS A PLACE WHERE NO ONE GOES HUNGRY AND ANYONE IN NEED HAS A PLACE TO TURN.

Food Pantry: A community resource to distribute Delicious, Affordable, Simple, and Healthy meals (DASH meals) with a focus on nutrition to economically poor Fauquier County residents.

Weekend Power Pack Program: A collaboration with Fauquier County Public Schools to ensure at-risk children have access to nutritious food during weekends, school holidays, and snow days.

Food For Fuel Program: In collaboration with several community organizations, we supplement fuel assistance programs and provide up to 6 weeks of groceries over a two month time-frame to free up clients’ personal funds to pay utility bills.

Book Bags & School Supplies Program: The cost of school supplies often creates a burden for financially struggling families. Fauquier FISH coordinates with community sponsors to provide hundreds of children with new book bags and supplies. 2016 was our 19th year.

Domestic Violence Advocacy Program: A partnership with other social services programs to provide emergency food to those who have been removed from their homes and placed in a hotel for their own protection.

Senior Nutritional Support: Delivers small, easy to prepare meals and nutritious grocery staples with a focus on dietary restrictions to Fauquier seniors who are not able to drive to the food pantry.

“I.S.H.” When a neighbor has nowhere else to turn, volunteers and resources at Fauquier FISH offer Immediate Sympathetic Help.
