Volunteer: 2026 John Jackson Piedmont Blues Festival

The John Jackson Piedmont Blues Festival, pays tribute to Rappahannock County native John Jackson and his legacy, and celebrates the musical and cultural heritage of Rappahannock County. Mr. Jackson was awarded the 1986 National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. John Jackson’s life and legacy will be celebrated at the festival, through Piedmont Blues music performances, food vendors, historical displays, and educational demonstrations.  This event needs a great deal of volunteer support.  We would welcome any amount of time you can give.  Usually in 2-3 hour incriements or more if you like. We are looking for help in the following areas.  If you are interested in helping out, click on the respond key and someone will get back with you to sort out the details and timing.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Parking guestsTicket Collection Assisting guest at the information table Set up on the 25 and take down on the 26 Conducting surveys about the festival with ipads (3-4 ipads)Restocking apple baskets for guests and promoting local farmsStocking water cooler for musicians Installing signage on the 25th Keeping the grounds cleanRecording and posting the event on social media Directing participants to the JAM and storytelling session
