Volunteer: Farm maintenance helpWhile Serendipity Equine maintains a herd of 25-30 horses, this position does not include direct contact with the horses. Volunteers will work on a team or individually to provide upkeep and make improvements to the facility in keeping with the volunteers experience and preference Some possible jobs include: Mowing Resetting fencing, if it has fallen over or a gap has been created Repairing stall doors, fencing, barns, etc. Building wooden fences or putting up electric fencing Cutting at ground level all weeds and saplings Removing heavy growth of berry bushes, vines, and fallen debris Hauling by hand to on site debris pile. Building lofts, repairing wood ceilings, building tack room and other sheds. Volunteers can expect to learn and do the following: * Serve as a Leadliner to guide horses for inexperienced riders or riders with disabilities * Serve as a Sidewalker to assist inexperienced riders or riders with disabilities maintain their balance on the horse * Assist with resetting the archery course, sensory trail and knife throwing targetry * Assist riders with horse hoof prep, grooming, tack-up and mounting * Assist with kids with mini horse, goats and playground
