What You'll Do:

Work with the President to develop a funding strategy and identify target grants. Search for funding opportunities through organizations like PATH Foundation's database and similar sources.Help create and refine compelling narratives for proposals.Coordinate with the President and Treasurer to track grant submissions and reporting requirements.

This Role Is Ideal If You:

Have experience writing successful grant proposals.Are detail oriented and understand the importance of deadlines and documentation.Want to use your writing and research skills to support a cause you care about.

Time Commitment:

Estimate: 10-20 hrs. per monthMost work can be done remotely and on your schedule.Occasional onsite meetings may be required.

What You Will Do:

As our Social Media Marketer, you will be the vital voice of CHS, helping us:

Raise awareness of local animal welfare issues.Promote adoptable dogs and cats and highlight success stories.Drive engagement and support for our low-cost spay/neuter , foster, Pet Pantry and emergency vet care programs.In collaboration with our President you will help to design and execute online fundraising and advocacy campaigns.

This Role Is Ideal If You:

Have experience managing social media for an organization or business.Know your way around Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.Can write and deign content that informs, inspires, and activates followers.Are self-motivated, organized, and enthusiastic about animal rescue.Want to volunteer flexibly-most work can be done remotely on your schedule once training is complete.

Time Commitment:

Estimated 15-30 hours per month.Occasional in-person meetings (Culpeper area)

Calling all Vet Techs and Vet Assistants...Support Animals, Empower Caregivers, Help Find Forever Homes 

Are you a current or former Vet Tech or Vet Assistant? Do you want to put your skills to work helping overseeing the care of pets in our foster homes and helping them to find their "forever homes"? Join the Culpeper Humane Society as a volunteer Foster Care Coordinator and be the vital link between rescued dogs and cats and their future families. 

Assist with the integration of foster animals into the foster caregiver's home.Monitor the health and wellbeing of our foster dogs and cats, helping to ensure protocols are being followed.Coordinate vet appointments and send medication and follow-up reminders to foster caregivers.Work closely with our President to share any needs or concerns in our foster network.Assist in preparing pets for adoption by marketing them and scheduling meet-and-greets at the foster's home.

This Role Is Ideal If You:

Are organized, compassionate, and experienced with animal care.Are comfortable communicating with foster families and vet clinics.Want to work independently and ake a tangible difference in the lives of animals.

Time Commitment:

Estimated: 10-20 hours per monthFlexibility to work from home on your schedule, once training is completed.Some travel to local foster homes and for occasional local meetings.

Volunteer Care-A-Van Transporter

Are you passionate about animals and the importance of Spay/Neuter?Do you enjoy dealing with the public?Do you possess excellence organization skills?Are you an experienced coordinator, administrative assistance, or dispatcher?

As a Care-A-Van Transporter you will use our van to transport dogs and cats to clinics for CHS monthly  Spay/Neuter runs.

You will work with our Care-A-Van Coordinator to ensure the smooth intake and return of animals for our Spay/Neuter transport runs.You will manage the intake/return process so that our protocols are followed, and the process flows in an orderly manner.You will safely transport animals to and from the Care-A-Can site to our clinic partner's site. 

A clean driving record is required to enable you to be placed on our insurance policy.

As the Fundraising Coordinator you will:

Work closely with our President to design and implement creative fundraising campaigns.Work with our Social Media Guru to promote our fundraising efforts across a variety of social media platforms. Create awareness and engagement in individual donors and local businesses to support the various programs that CHS supplies to the community. Manage a team of volunteers to market events, collect donations, set-up/break-down and staff events. 

Occasional on-site meetings are required. Once trained, you will work primarily from home or in the community.

Are you passionate about animals and the importance of spaying/neutering your pets? Do you have exceptional organizational skills? Put them to use to help us fulfill our mission to create a no-kill community.

The Care-A-Van is our transport service that transports dogs and cats to our clinic partners for low-cost spay/neuter services. The cost of these services is offered to our community on a sliding scale, based on income. We do three transports per month one for dogs, one for cats and one for cats from our trap/neuter/release cat colonies. 

The Care-A-Van Coordinator will:

Work with our clinics to set appointments.Communicate via email with program participants to notify them of transport requirements, dates and times. Obtain the necessary documentation to qualify them for one of our programs.Collect participants payment in advance of the actual transport run date. Work with transport team to set up transports for the morning and evening transportation runs.Coordinate with clinics and program participants regarding drop-off and return locations and times . Maintain an up to date Wait List for transport runs. After training, work from home when it is convenient for you. Occasional on-site meetings may be required.

Recruiting 3 volunteers for this position so each Coordinator can be responsible for one run per month.
