Volunteer: Dementia Friendly Business Program Support

About the Role

Join our team to help expand the Dementia-friendly business initiative in Central Virginia. Dementia Friendly Businesses create environments that accommodate the needs of individuals living with dementia, enhancing their experience and accessibility. As a Dementia Friendly Business Program Volunteer, you will help with communication, outreach, and coordination to strengthen this important community initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with quarterly Dementia Friendly Business newsletters using Mailchimp.

Reach out to existing businesses to share updated materials (like window decals) and program updates.

Connect with new businesses interested in joining the Dementia Friendly movement.

Schedule dementia-friendly training, and coordinate with trainers.

Add new businesses to the program database and ensure information is posted on appropriate websites.

Help recruit additional volunteers to promote awareness and engagement.

Qualifications

Familiarity with Mailchimp or similar email tools.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Comfortable interacting with business owners and community members.

Passion for community service and dementia awareness.
