Volunteer: CASA Volunteer's NeededCASA Children’s Intervention Services is looking for volunteers! Our volunteers are appointed by the Juvenile and Domestic Relations judges to advocate for the best interests of the child in cases of abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers are members of the community who receive extensive education and training in order to advocate for abused and neglected children – who through no fault of their own – are thrust into juvenile and domestic relations court and often, into foster care. Volunteers work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators and service providers to ensure that judges have all the information they need to make the most well-informed decisions for each child. Please consider giving your time to help a child in need. The first step is to attend one of our monthly virtual information sessions to hear about the role of the advocate, the application process and the training requirements. Contact JoAnn Polen at jpolen@casacis.org for the link to upcoming meetings. Agency: CASA Children's Intervention Services CASA Children’s Intervention Services is looking for volunteers! Volunteer: CASA Children's Intervention Services Needs Spanish/English Speaking VolunteersA new case of child abuse or neglect enters the court system once every few days. When these children come from the Hispanic/Latino Community, they are at an extreme disadvantage; there are not enough Spanish speaking CASA volunteers to help ensure that these children receive the same care, and attention as other child victims of abuse. CASA Children’s Intervention Services recruits and trains volunteers to investigate a child's situation and to advocate for the best interests of the child in court. We seek volunteers fluent in both English and Spanish to close the language gap and make sure our Hispanic children grow up in safe and permanent homes. No prior experience in child welfare or the law is required. To learn more about child advocacy with CASA, attend a Virtual information session.
