Join Fauquier Habitat for Humanity for a hands-on day of gardening and construction as we support homeowners on historic Haiti Street!

We’re partnering with the Fauquier County Extension Master Gardeners to provide vegetable and flower seedlings—and we need your help to bring these gardens (and homes) to life.

* Breakfast, water and snacks provided.

Garden & Planting Activities—Help us create thriving home gardens for local families: 

Transport soil (loading bags into wheelbarrows and delivering to homes)Deliver vegetable and flower seedlings to homesSpread soil, plant seedlings and then waterAssist with building raised garden beds (if needed)Clean up yard debris

Construction Activities—We’ll also be working on recently completed homes:

Volunteer: Remington Community Garden Spring Cleaning Day!

Come help get the Gardens prepare for planting! We have two new elevated gardens beds needing assembly and filling. We will be installing a new video cam bird feeder. There will be plenty of weeding, mulching, & planting flowerpots. Installing new signage for garden beds and identifying flowers & shrubs. Covering our community growing plots with landscape fabric & drip irrigation. 

So, bring your garden gloves & your muscles! We'll keep you busy and engaged.

Volunteer Roles: We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help ensure the festival runs smoothly. Your support will be critical in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for all attendees. Here are some of the ways you can help:

Flyer Distribution: Hand out festival flyers at the entrance to welcome guests and provide information about the event.

Set Up & Tear Down: Assist with event setup before the festival starts and help with tear-down after the event concludes.

Litter Patrol: Help maintain a clean and inviting festival space by assisting with litter patrol throughout the event.

Community Leader Participation: We are also reaching out to community leaders who would like to contribute to the festival by: Setting up an information booth to share insights about your culture. Conducting a demonstration to showcase cultural traditions, crafts, or culinary skills. Sharing stories, history, or experiences that reflect the rich diversity of our community.
