Volunteer: Camp Volunteer Day

Rapp Nature Camp has scheduled a Camp Volunteer Day on Monday, May 4th.  The event is timed to prepare for the summer day camp sessions for children beginning in June.  The goal of the Camp Volunteer Day is to marshal the support of volunteers in cleaning up the barn and nature trails.  Feel free to pick an hour to come if you can't stay for the whole time.  Families are encouraged; parents should plan to stay and work alongside kids 12 and under.  Refreshments and Rapp Nature Camp-branded apparel will be offered to the volunteers.

Volunteer: Planting and Building for the Future: Master Gardening & Deck Build Day 2026!

Join Fauquier Habitat for Humanity for a hands-on day of gardening and construction as we support homeowners on historic Haiti Street!

We’re partnering with the Fauquier County Extension Master Gardeners to provide vegetable and flower seedlings—and we need your help to bring these gardens (and homes) to life.

* Breakfast, water and snacks provided.

Garden & Planting Activities—Help us create thriving home gardens for local families: 

Transport soil (loading bags into wheelbarrows and delivering to homes)Deliver vegetable and flower seedlings to homesSpread soil, plant seedlings and then waterAssist with building raised garden beds (if needed)Clean up yard debris

Construction Activities—We’ll also be working on recently completed homes:

Explore the prehistoric world in your backyard! The Museum of Culpeper History is looking for volunteers to assist with its popular DinoWalk event on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Help is needed with the following tasks:

Visitor check-in Visitor parking and vehicle traffic Visitor safety Answering visitor questions and providing directions Assisting with crafts and activities Merchandise sales

 

This is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine. Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather.

 

Volunteer Requirements:

Must commit to help all day. Must be able to negotiate at least 300 yards of rough and uneven terrain Must be prepared to stand for extended periods Must be able to communicate with visitors clearly and politely Must register individually If multiple members in your group or family wish to volunteer, please register each person separately Volunteers may not be accompanied by anyone not registered as a volunteer Must be over the age of 15 Must abide by Luck Stone’s safety regulations. This is an active industrial site! Must sign a volunteer waiver form. Must attend one of two training sessions: Wednesday, April 23, at 6:30 PM; or Saturday, April 26, at 10:30 AM.
