Fauquier County Public Schools and Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health are joining forces to promote a school-wide food drive in support of Fauquier FISH. FISH operates a food pantry in town and also runs the Weekend Power Pack program, providing food support to over 550 Fauquier school children on weekends and school holidays.
FRESH & FCPS will work with schools and families to solicit donations of FISH's most needed food items. Volunteer drivers are needed to visit schools across the county to collect donations and deliver to Fauquier FISH's location at 680A Industrial Road (across from Wal-Mart). FRESH and FCPS personnel will coordinate with volunteer drivers ahead of time to assign pick up locations and times.
Pick up and drop off date: Volunteer drivers will pick up food donations from schools and drop them off at Fauquier FISH on April 11th between 9 AM-2PM.
Interested in donating food? Schools across the county are collecting the items outlined below. They can be dropped off anytime during school hours, or directly to FISH at 680A Industrial Road.
Most Needed Items Include: Single Serve Snacks, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Chicken, Tuna, Boxed Pasta
