Be a Salvation Army Bell Ringer!-Bealton Food Lion

Expired

Description

Come help us spread holiday cheer by being a Salvation Army Bell Ringer!  Shifts are in two-hour increments listed below.  You may sign up for as many as you wish!  It's the most fun when you get together with a group of friends and adopt a kettle location for a full day.  If that is what you would like to do, simply respond to all the shifts at the given location you wish to serve.  Someone will be in touch with you to confirm your registration.  Thank you for sharing your holidays with us through service!

Time is valuable. Thank you for giving it! Below we’ve provided answers to commonly asked questions. Please feel free to contact us if you need more information.

How early should I arrive for my shift?

Please plant to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to your start time.

How will I get kettle, bell and apron?

If you’re the first ringer of the day, the kettle tripod will be waiting for you inside the store entrance. Please set it up just outside the entrance and wait for the driver to bring you the kettle, apron and bell. If you’re arriving later in the day and replacing another worker, they will pass the apron and bell on to you. You will do the same. If you are the last group scheduled for the day, a driver will come by to pick up your gear and put away the tripod.

Flexibility is key during the holidays. We will have only 1 to 2 drivers for both Culpeper, Orange and Fauquier County. Please be patient. They may run up to 10 minutes ahead or behind schedule depending on traffic and problems that may arise along their route. If you need to leave, please leave your items at the customer service counter.

Who should I contact when problems arise or if I need to leave?

Captain Duane Burleigh is the point person for all Kettle activity on the ground. He can be reached at 757-403-6663. If you are unable to connect with him, please contact Yina Caver at 540-349-8076

Where does the money go?

Funds raised in the Red Kettle Campaign support The Salvation Army’s local efforts year round. These include utilities assistance, emergency food and commodities, share the warmth coat vouchers, summer camp for kids, Angel Tree and emergency disasters services.

What is the key to success?

It’s really very simple. Smile and greet your neighbors. Have fun and spread cheer
