The Fauquier Community Coalition (FCC) Wood Ministry, in coordination with Warrenton Baptist Church (and many others,) will be having a volunteer event of preparation for the upcoming 2023 winter season on Saturday, 21 April 2023 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Volunteers will be cutting, splitting, stacking, and making wood deliveries throughout the morning. All ages and abilities are welcome as there will be plenty of tasks for all.
The Wood Ministry is established to deliver free firewood to needy individuals/families in our community. Currently, the ministry is the only source of heat for approximately 49 families in need, within the center and southern parts of Fauquier County. Last season, we delivered over 375 truckloads of firewood during the winter using an all-volunteer workforce. Our volunteers will contribute over 2,500 hours to the ministry in a season (we meet every Saturday morning 9-11 AM.)
