Volunteers will inform voters about the Loudoun Comprehensive Plan and concerns for Loudoun's future as they exit the polling stations. Volunteers will share a handout and collect voter contact information to be sure people stay informed as the Comprehensive Plan is being revised. Ideally, two volunteers will be assigned to work together. We will follow all Election Board guidelines.
- Volunteer hours are 7-9:30AM, 11AM to 1:30pm, and 4-6:30P
- Willing volunteers would also help with precinct leadership:
- Receive and help distribute materials to volunteers,
- Help set-up for the day
- Take-down/collect materials and filled-out forms from their team
- Provide candy/snacks for public & volunteers
- Coordinate to return materials to PEC
- If possible, enter voter sign-ups into online spreadsheet
- Talk to voters exiting from voting and hand out flyers about the risks to existing residents in the Comp Plan
- Ask if they agree with the statement on the sign-up sheet and sign-up
- Let them know about opportunities to make a difference--
- starting with the Planning Commission public hearing and online input, and the rest of the process through Board adoption of the plan some time next year.
- Tell them we'll stay in touch at key points to help maximize their influence
- Take the sign-up sheets with you as you leave and return them to the coordinators
- If possible, before returning sign-up sheets, also enter the information into the online spreadsheet
Once you have signed up, you will be contacted via email to confirm. We will provide instructions and materials in advance, with in-person and other opportunities to ask questions so you have all the information you need before election day.
