Come plant trees, shrubs, and live stake materials in a small stream that leads to the Rappahannock River with Friends of the Rappahannock!
We will be focused on installing live plant material that will help to stabilize banks, prevent erosion, and improve habitat for fish and wildlife.
We have all the materials needed including tools, gloves, some waders/rubber boots, and snacks.
Several conservation staff will be on the site to provide instruction on planting methods, safety talk, and to answer questions about the project and the larger restoration efforts taking place across the region.
This project requires volunteers to work in and around a stream which has lots of gravel, cobble, boulders, and mud. The stream may have standing pools and flowing water.
Our staff can sign volunteer paperwork for all participants.
All participants must complete and sign a waiver. Any participate under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
