Virginia Cooperative Extension office will be conducting a Poverty Simulation with Fauquier County staff on June 19.  Volunteers are needed to fill the roles of banker, childcare provider, pawnbroker, doctor, debt collector, police office, social worker and many more.  No experience needed!  Staff from Virginia Cooperative Extension will meet with volunteers from 12:30 - 1:00 to train the volunteers and the Poverty Simulation will run from 1:00-3:00PM at C. Hunter Ritchie Elementary School.

A poverty simulation is a guided experience that exposes participants to the realities of poverty, including challenges of navigating the complex world of government services and essential service providers.  This simulation is provided at no charge by the Virginia Cooperative Extension office.  

Lunch is provided for all volunteers.
