Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier is seeking community members to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

Expectations of Individual Board Members:

Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs.Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier to advance its mission and collective purpose.Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to achieve our mission.Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings and Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier Events.Participate fully in one or more committees or task forces.

We know that to achieve our goals, fulfill our mission, and realize our vision, we need to include individuals with perspectives drawn from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, skill sets, areas of expertise, and lived experiences.

We are publicly recruiting for board positions to ensure that we move beyond our immediate networks and honor our ongoing commitment to creating a board that is diverse, inclusive, and equity-focused.

The preparation for our 2024 Summer Camp is almost complete!  We have over 130 local children registered to attend camp this year!

To ensure that Summer Camp is assessable to all, with the lowest weekly rates around, donations of the following items would be greatly appreciated:

JELLO No-Bake Desserts - Cheesecake, Reese's Peanut Butter, or Cookies and CreamFive Below Items (ANYTHING to be used as prizes for in camp games and activities - T-shirts, journals, cups, toys, craft kits, etc.)Gift Cards to be used as prizes for in camp games and activities (Restaurants, Roblox, Google Play, Visa, etc.) Ice Cream Sandwiches and Popsicles - treats for days when we go to the ParkSTEM Boxes (KiwiCo., CrunchLabs, Little Passports, or any unused STEM kits from the school year)Plain Copy Paper - Many times we will need to make 130 copies of each activity

Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier has three locations: Taylor Middle School, Marshall Middle School and Cedar Lee Middle School. 

 

We are seeking volunteers and mentors with a wide variety of interests and skills to help our staff and to share with our Club kids. Our members are eager and happy to learn new things!  Arts and Crafts - Music - Sports - Technology - Cooking - Photography -- the possibilities are endless! 

 

We would also love to have volunteers for our fundraising events and upcoming Summer Camp!
