Opportunities From: PATH Volunteer Hub

Provide support to office personnel through clerical and administrative functions. May assist with answering phones, making copies, receive donations and log them, greet visitors and volunteers, assist participants with daily basic needs, replenish office supplies as needed, and sending thank you cards. 

Office hours are 8:30-4:30.  Volunteers can contribute 3 hours anytime during those business hours.

Sharing food is a powerful act of community. Family Shelter Services depends on volunteers and community support to donate and prepare meals for our families. Several ways to help with food:

- Community can prepare a potluck style meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner and drop off/serve. (Youth groups, Adult Ministries, Clubs, Families, Sororities, School groups, Local businesses)

- Providing a "sack" meal like breakfast or lunch and drop off.

- Sponsor a shelter dinner with a local restaurant, like pizza!

Respond according to the date that you wish to donate a meal, and our Program & Volunteer Coordinator, Tracy Forloines will reach out with additional details. 

Volunteer to teach life-skill classes to our families in shelter. The topic can range from nutrition, finance, parenting, health, job coach, budgeting, credit, cooking, counseling, and more based on your skill set. Life skill classes are held every Wednesday from 6pm-7pm. If you are looking to give back to your community doing a life skills class is a great way to get involved.

Do you have a helpful and handy pair of hands aching to be put to good use? Family Shelter Services is looking for support in facility maintenance and upkeep from hanging blinds, cleaning and organizing to minor repairs, carpentry and painting walls. Opportunities based on your time limitations and ability. Support is needed at both our Temporary Shelter in Warrenton and Transitional Housing Community in Vint Hill.

We are in need of volunteers for "Teaching Moments" with our children while their parents attend our weekly life skills class. This is an opportunity to engage with children in fun ways like planned group activities (games, arts & crafts etc.). The need for our shelter location is on Wednesdays from 6pm-7pm every week. This is a wonderful way to give back or earn community service hours all year round. 

Do you love a hands-on approach with helping children? Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back? Consider volunteering with the children in our temporary shelter assisting with projects, games, arts & crafts. We aim to offer support, while having fun! This is a great opportunity for retired teachers or graduating seniors, going into the early childhood education field.  

Kids Club is offered Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm-5:30pm. For children in our shelter. For K-12 students only. This is an all-year program.
