Volunteer: MUST LOVE CATS - Help Needed at our Private Cat Sanctuary/Shelter
We need dedicated and dependable volunteers to help us work with our cat rescues and to help us keep our shelter and sanctuary clean.
Volunteer Interview Required
The People for Pets Foundation is a "private" non profit cat rescue founded in 2008. Our facility is located on a private farm in Jeffersonton, VA - about 35 minutes from Culpeper or Warrenton. We operate a cat shelter and sanctuary for approximately 15 adult cats that range in age from 5 to 12 years of age.
We "specialize" in rescuing adult cats that have been abandoned, neglected and often abused. These cats are often shy and timid and in great need of loving attention so that they can eventually find good and loving forever homes.
In addition to working with our cats (playing with, brushing, helping with nail trims, ear & eye cleaning, etc.), we also need your help with cleaning their condos and living areas. This includes cleaning and disinfecting their living spaces, their litter boxes, mopping the floor, cleaning windows, windowsills, countertops and walls. Working around our cats will help you get to know them and the cats will become more used to you!
***All volunteers need to start out working with other volunteers.
Eventually, if you stick with it, you'll be able to schedule your own days and hours.
