Opportunities From: PATH Volunteer Hub

Join the Carver Food Enterprise Center for a hands-on volunteer event that transforms locally grown strawberries into nutritious ice pops for students in Fauquier County Public Schools. Volunteers will work alongside Food Enterprise Center Staff to wash, trim, blend, and portion strawberries into refreshing frozen treats that will be served through the school nutrition program. This project helps connect local agriculture with school meals while providing students with a healthy snack made from fresh Virginia-grown produce. No prior food service experience is necessary. Volunteers will receive instruction on food safety procedures and will assist with a variety of kitchen tasks in our commercial kitchen. This is a great opportunity to learn about large-scale food production, support local farmers, and make a direct impact on children's access to healthy foods.

By the end of the event, volunteers will have helped produce approximately 509 strawberry smoothie ice pops that will be served to students in Fauquier County Public Schools.

Volunteers will organize, process, and pack materials to assemble hygiene kits to distribute to individuals in need.

Come lend a hand and help us grow something special! Virginia Cooperative Extension – Culpeper and the Carver Food Enterprise Center are teaming up for a hands-on community project to build picnic tables at the Carver Center Demonstration Gardens.

We’re not just building picnic tables—we’re building a place where our community can gather, connect, learn, and grow together. These new picnic tables will provide comfortable seating and shade for volunteers, program participants, and visitors enjoying the vegetable gardens, flower gardens, and blueberry demonstration patch.

This new gathering space will be the perfect place to take a break, share gardening stories, enjoy the view, and celebrate the many “berry” wonderful things happening at the Carver Center!

What’s on the build list?

Join us as we build, plant, mulch, and enhance our natural playground for the children of Trinity Day School.  Together we can create an outdoor space where little learners can explore, imagine, and grow.  Many hands make light work-come volunteer and help us make a lasting impact for our children and community!

Our staff team at Generations Central works faithfully every day to support our senior adults living with dementia and help them thrive! We have a vision to build a respite room for them to utilize during their day in order to take a breath, decompress, and recharge so that they can provide the best care possible to our participants. 

This volunteer opportunity will involve a variety of jobs to help us create a beautiful respite room. Jobs may include:

-Painting

-Building furniture

-Carrying items to the thrift store

-Creating art pieces

-Writing encouragement notes

-Decorating

We encourage volunteers of all ability levels to join us in creating this space together.
