We are planning a full day of service activities for Earth Day weekend. Our tasks include picking up trash along Airlie Road as part of VDOT's Adopt-a-Highway program, installing plants on the path to Rady Park from Bear Wallow Road in a partnership with Fauquier County's Park and Recreation department and an electronics recycling drive in partnership with ALC Recycling. All volunteers will meet at Rainforest Trust headquarters at Airlie for registration and assignment to one of the three service teams. Teams will conduct their service duties from 10am to 1 pm. The electronics recycling team stays back at Airlie to accept donations. This is a great opportunity for families with little children, as they can participate in other Earth Day activities while doing their service, including playing games, arts and crafts, Warrenton Volunteer Firefighters tent and forest fire presentation. Once the other two teams arrive back at Airlie, we will serve a picnic lunch with more time for activities. Multiple options for volunteering including varying hours and tasks needed.
