Who We Are

Founded in 1867, First Baptist is a historically Black church that appreciates diversity. We are located in the town of Warrenton and have a rich history of involvement in the local community. Members of our church have served on local boards and committees and have worked together on projects and supported causes in harmony with other denominations and churches in the area. We especially enjoy reaching out to youth and the underserved community to provide educational activities and support.

What We Do

The Joseph E. Penn Family Life Center is a gathering place for community non-profit groups, activities, workshops, and meetings for all ages—youth, young adults, and seniors.   During COVID, the PATH-supported study hub provided internet access to the underserved. Post-pandemic, we have continued our Coming Together as ONE school supply giveaway, a college prep and FAFSA workshop, and an annual shoe drive benefitting shelters, second chance organizations, and others in need. We are always looking for a cause!

Our goal is to unite people of all ages and ethnicities and to actively participate and promote opportunities that deal with education, equity, and positively enriching the lives of others.
