Who We Are
The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights protects and advances the rights and best interests of immigrant children according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and state and federal law.
What We Do
We advocate for children’s wishes and best interests. We fight to make sure children’s wishes and best interests are considered in every decision.
We fight for children’s right to be with family. We ensure that no matter what, children are with a trusted, adult caregiver.
We keep children safe in and ultimately free from government custody. We strive for an immigration system that centers children’s rights and best interests throughout all steps of their detention and release.
We ensure kids can access fair proceedings and permanency. We ensure children and their families have fair opportunities in court and the right to seek permanent protection in the U.S.
We amplify and uplift children’s voices. We center the voices and stories of children and their families to promote narrative change.
We support safe communities. Because it takes a village to keep a child safe.
