Who We Are
The Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation, Inc. (FHPF) is dedicated to preserving the history of Fauquier County and sharing the organization's resources through its two adjacent facilities located in Marshall, Virginia: the John Kenneth Gott Library and the Robert L. Sinclair Education Center.
Established in 1993, FHPF is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
What We Do
FHPF collects, indexes and preserves historical and genealogical material related to Fauquier County. The John K. Gott Library provides a resource for FHPF's collection and shares these materials with the local community and throughout the nation, from serious researchers to drop-by visitors.
The recent opening of the Robert L. Sinclair Education Center in October 2017 will allow FHPF to expand its educational programs and cultural events for the community, including lectures, exhibits and presentations.
We are currently in search of additional volunteers to help us expand our outreach to the community. You needn't have a background in history to join our volunteer family! The major qualification is a love of Fauquier County!
Whether you are an IT whiz, a history buff, a lover of maps and manuscripts, willing to help with mailings and newsletters, or willing to help out from time to time with special events--we need your talent! And/or perhaps you've had a background as a program coordinator, a fundraising coordinator, or as an administrator--we could use your knowledge and experience!
If you think you might be able to help or if you want to know more, please contact Ava Lee at 703-364-3440 or gottlibrary@gmail.com, or stop by the Gott Library to talk to any of our volunteer staff.
