The Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life for all people in Fauquier County. Working in a partnership with the people, the department shall provide the leadership to assure that citizens receive high quality recreational facilities and services, and to assure the preservation of local history.
Specifically, the FCPRD is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of all county citizens through a comprehensive set of goals and objectives including: 1) Fostering skill development and leisure education. 2) Cultivating volunteerism. 3) Exposing citizens to a wide variety and range of opportunities. 4) Promoting strong families by providing a safe place for children to come to after school. 5) Promote learning skills in children that can be taken home to parents. 6) Promote safety in recreation activities and facilities –i.e. internet safety. 7) Promote community enrichment. 8) Encouraging partnership efforts with citizens, organizations, and businesses.
