Our volunteers work one-on-one with unaccompanied migrant children to connect with them and advocate for their rights. We have some basic requirements to volunteering with us:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Speak a language other than English
- Preference for Spanish and Central American Indigenous Languages
- Access to a car to get to meetings with the child
- Attend an Information Session
- Complete an interview
- Attend a 2 day training
- Complete background checks
We will be hosting an in-person Volunteer Child Advocate Training in September 2026 in Washington DC. This will be our last training of 2026. However, if you anticipate you may not be able to attend in person, please still apply as will offer additional training dates and formats in 2027!
