Description

Fauquier Habitat for Humanity is seeking a dependable, organized volunteer to provide ongoing administrative and office support. Working closely with our Home Ownership Program Coordinator & Office Manager, this person will help with the day-to-day administrative needs of our office and become an important part of our team.

 

The volunteer will receive training, direction, and guidance to assist with a variety of administrative tasks and projects based on the organization's needs.

 

What You'll Help With

·       Providing general administrative and clerical support

·       Assisting with office supplies, inventory, equipment, maintenance, and vendor needs

·       Greeting and assisting visitors, volunteers, and community members

·       Maintaining electronic and paper files and records

·       Entering and maintaining information in spreadsheets and other systems

·       Assisting with communications, special projects, events, and other administrative needs

·       Preparing correspondence, documents, spreadsheets, reports, and meeting materials

 

We're Looking For Someone Who Is

·       Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented

·       Comfortable using a computer and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

·       Able to learn new software and systems

·       Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities

·       A good communicator who enjoys working with people

·       Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

·       Willing to learn, ask questions, and take initiative

·       Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion

 

Previous office or administrative experience is preferred. You don't need to be an expert—we're looking for someone with a solid foundation of administrative and computer skills who is willing to learn.

Time Commitment

This is an in-person volunteer opportunity at our Warrenton office, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. Volunteers who are interested and available to contribute additional hours, up to 30 hours per week, are welcome. The number of hours per week will be established based on the volunteer's availability and the needs of the organization.

 

Background Check

A basic background/criminal history check is required. Fauquier Habitat for Humanity will cover the cost.
