The Mental Health Association of Fauquier County’s primary mission is to promote and facilitate mental wellness in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties which includes reducing the stigma around mental health and sharing hope that recovery is possible. For this year’s Let’s Volunteer project, we are recruiting volunteers to help deliver this message. During National Mental Health month (May), we will be coordinating an outreach campaign using the symbol of a butterfly to deliver messages of hope, encourage conversation about mental wellness, and spread awareness of mental health resources and supports. Various activities will be offered for "turning Awareness Into Action" in collaboration with groups like Experience Old Town Warrenton, Town of Warrenton Parks & Rec, Fauquier County Parks and Rec, and Fauquier County Libraries, and non-profits, as well as groups in Rappahannock.
Please join our Let's Volunteer event to help assemble butterfly messages (attaching charms to business cards) and create other displays for community gathering places. MHA-Fauquier will provide materials and pizza. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our organization and connect over conversations about mental wellness!
