Calling all Vet Techs and Vet Assistants...Support Animals, Empower Caregivers, Help Find Forever Homes
Are you a current or former Vet Tech or Vet Assistant? Do you want to put your skills to work helping overseeing the care of pets in our foster homes and helping them to find their "forever homes"? Join the Culpeper Humane Society as a volunteer Foster Care Coordinator and be the vital link between rescued dogs and cats and their future families.
- Assist with the integration of foster animals into the foster caregiver's home.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of our foster dogs and cats, helping to ensure protocols are being followed.
- Coordinate vet appointments and send medication and follow-up reminders to foster caregivers.
- Work closely with our President to share any needs or concerns in our foster network.
- Assist in preparing pets for adoption by marketing them and scheduling meet-and-greets at the foster's home.
This Role Is Ideal If You:
- Are organized, compassionate, and experienced with animal care.
- Are comfortable communicating with foster families and vet clinics.
- Want to work independently and ake a tangible difference in the lives of animals.
Time Commitment:
- Estimated: 10-20 hours per month
- Flexibility to work from home on your schedule, once training is completed.
- Some travel to local foster homes and for occasional local meetings.
