Join staff from Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Dept. in building a foundation for a Dero brand Fixit Station and Air Pump on the Brookside Community Trails. As FCPRD's trail system grows so does the need to provide cyclist an opportunity to make simple repairs to their bikes while out enjoying the trails. A similar project was installed on the Warrenton Branch Greenway last year.
The Fixit Station includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The tools are securely attached to the stand with stainless steel cables and tamper-proof fasteners. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedal and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments.
Snacks, water and tools will be provided. Participants will need to dress for the weather and bring work gloves and their love for giving back to the community.
