The CRUSHER is our annual climbing competition in the spring. It is open to the public and an event where we encourage everyone to attend, whether as a participant or a spectator. We encourage everyone to stick around after the competition to climb on all the new routes and enjoy some food and company.
Competitors, both local and out-of-towners will climb in one-hour time slots throughout the day. During this time, volunteers will help with check-in and scoring contestants on their climbs. A problem is counted as completed if both start holds and finish holds are established and only allowed holds are used to complete the route. Volunteers will help to make sure that all score cards are turned in for score calculation.
After all the competitors have gone, open climbing will be available to the public and we will have a cookout to celebrate! Volunteers will set up the area, cook food on the grill and keep the area clean.
Volunteers do not need to stay for the whole event. Please reach out to Iris (iris@stateclimb.com) about your availability and interests.
