Fauquier Habitat for Humanity has an ongoing need for Partner Advocates.
Partner Advocates are matched with a Partner Family (adult members) and work directly with the family to provide support and counsel through the first year of home ownership. Educational opportunities for the families include:
- Finance, managing a budget
- Applying for a mortgage
- Home maintenance
- Community Resources, being a good neighbor
- Receiving guidance and encouragement as they fulfill their responsibilities to Habitat.
Partner Advocates provide support, encouragement and direction in these areas.
Partner Advocate Commitment:
- Weekly or bi-weekly communication with the Partner Family
- Attend and participate in monthly Advocate meetings - 1 hour
- Attend and participate with Partner Family in monthly Partner Home Ownership Classes – 1 hour
If you are interested in sharing your time and talents with a family with the end goal of “bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope” - - - please contact Angela Robinson to set up a phone/conference interview.
