Description

Looking to better tell the story of your nonprofit and your mission?  Trying to figure out how to engage your various audiences – board members, foundations, donors, volunteers and clients – in a more meaningful way?  Feeling like your stuck giving facts and figures without truly showing the impact of the work you are doing in the community?  PATH Resource Center is offering Free Communication Coaching sessions to all non-profits that affect the communities of Culpeper, Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties and who feel they could benefit from this kind of support.

When we talk about our work, it can often fall flat or fail to reach your intended audience. Our communication coach can help you analyze the needs of your critical audiences and craft messages that will connect each group with the mission of your organization. By thinking through the information you have to relay from data, dollars, testimonials and results and then applying communication insights and best practices, you’ll be able to see what will resonate with your desired targets that matches your needs with their interests. You’ll start with developing a solid, core set of key messages and then tailoring them to the individual group so you can share your organization’s story in a compelling way that will drive community engagement and action.

The sessions will be lead by Laine Thomas Conway who is a leading expert on how companies can best leverage communication and total rewards to effectively attract, retain and engage their workforce. She has worked with a broad spectrum of Fortune 500 companies in her 20 years in HR and corporate communication. Laine brings extensive experience communicating that goes beyond simply presenting education and data to telling a compelling story that captures the real and inspiring experience that drives business results. However, she understands the power and purpose of nonprofit work, spending a decade in non-profit development, leading fundraising and alumni outreach programs at universities and hospitals, along with board management. Over the years, Laine also has served as founder, president and board member of several alumni groups and has volunteered for a variety of organizations including animal rescues, arts organizations, senior services, and hunger relief.  She is a published author and frequent presenter on communication, rewards, employee experience, wellbeing and issues around how the pandemic and the rise of the social justice movement has impacted employees and workplaces. Laine works virtually from her home in Warrenton, VA, which she shares with her daughter and dog.
