Who We Are
Our organization seeks to stimulate interest in Fauquier County and Virginia history by preserving the evidence of our past, connecting it to our present and educating the community about its importance to our future.
What We Do
The Fauquier Historical Society, a private non-profit, is responsible for the preservation of the old jail and utilizes it as a museum to house a very vast and interesting collection of Fauquier county artifacts. The Society has many very loyal members dedicated to preserving Fauquier County's rich history. The organization provides historic markers, educational programs, self guided walking tours and information to guide visitors during their stay in Warrenton.
